Notes on Leadership Section 1 - Notes on Leadership from the Book of 1 Timothy This section gives direction for those who lead in the church whether in a formal or informal sense. This course would be appropriate for a pastor, an elder, a Sunday School Teacher or just a lay-person who in some way functions as a leader or example setter among the believers in a church or parachurch organization. (39 pages) Section 2 - Notes on Leadership from the Book of 2 Timothy This section continues to give direction for those who lead in the church whether in a formal or informal sense. The course contains reminders for leaders and their roles. It also deals with rough times for leaders and the need to follow the scriptures. Finally, it sums up what a leader’s ministry should reflect and his relationships with people. (38 pages) Section 3 - Notes on Leadership from the Book of Titus This study starts with persons and subjects to be discussed. We see the need for and qualities of leaders explained. These overlap with but do not duplicate 1 Timothy 3:1-7. There is a clear presentation of the duties of various groups within the church. We find the doctrine of salvation discussed in a way that impacts our dedication and lifestyle. The need for leaders to confront and correct error is not avoided but met in a very plain and straightforward manner. (22 pages) Doctrine of the Bible What the Bible teaches about itself. (29 pages) God the Holy Spirit The scriptures teach that The Holy Spirit is God and at the same time, one of the three parts of the Triune Godhead. This is a complete study on what God’s word teaches about the Holy Spirit except for spiritual gifts which are discussed in a separate study. (15 pages) Bible Teaching Regarding Man This is a study of what the Bible teaches about human beings. It deals with the outer man and the inner man, the saved and the saved man, the spiritual believer and the carnal believer and also has a section on God’s institutions in relation to man. (20 pages) Knowing About Satan This study deals with the person and work of Satan, his history, judgment, limitations and his activity in relation to people and other angels. It also explains how we as believers can have victory over him. (10 pages) Holy Angels of God This study deals with the holy angels meaning those angels who are not fallen. This describes their personality, nature, limitations, ministry and how they relate to us and to God. (7 pages) Chart of the Angels This chart shows the dividing line between the holy angels, Satan and his angels/demons. In addition it shows the dividing lines between Satan and the demons/angels that are loose, those who are temporarily confined and those who are permanently confined. (1 page) The Miraculous Signs of Christ in John’s Gospel “The Miraculous Signs of Christ in John’s Gospel” is a course which details all of Christ’s miraculous signs in the Gospel of John which showed Him to be the unique Son of God, i.e. being in very nature God, and to promote faith in Him as God to receive eternal life at the moment of faith. In addition, the reader will find many practical applications for living the Christian life in thought and action. (25 pages) Notes on Election and Predestination Too many believers go to two extremes when it comes to the doctrines of election and predestination. One group overemphasizes God’s sovereignty to the extent that they would teach that God chooses our choice to trust Christ and that it is all basically already decided. Others would overemphasize the free will or choice of people and just explain away the scriptures that teach God’s election and predestination. This study is designed to help believers clearly see that they are chosen but free. (14 Pages) Notes on the Rapture These notes describe the nature of the rapture of believers living during the present time in the first part. The second part shows that the rapture will occur prior to the tribulation. This study duplicates much of the material in the question/answer study titled “Rapture before the Tribulation” but gives additional material that will help those studying the Bible to see that the rapture is definitely not post-tribulational but is clearly pre-tribulational. (12 pages) Reconciliation Reconciliation is a confusing concept for many people. Sometimes it appears as though it teaches that everyone is automatically saved. Other times it is obvious that one must trust Christ to receive this reconciliation. This study will help the student sort out all of these various issues as well as other issues that are raised by the verses dealing with reconciliation. (2 pages) Notes on Grace Grace is spoken of in the scriptures in five different ways as discussed in these notes. (2 pages) Holiness Holiness is often a misunderstood topic. There are some who treat it as some type of sinless perfection in this life. Yet God’s word presents it in a different light. This study shows how God sets us apart for His purpose in 4 different ways. Living a holy life is a command not an option. There is no greater purpose in life than God’s purpose. (3 pages) Office of the Deacon Meaning of the term “deacon,” how deacons are to be selected and the responsibilities of deacons. (1 page) Qualifications for Deacons The qualifications from the Scriptures that should be met for deacons to be selected and to serve. (4 pages) Office of the Elder Meaning of the term “elder,” duties of the elder, the number of elders in a church and congregational responsibilities for pastors/elders. (2 pages) Qualifications for Elders Meaning of the term “elder,” duties of the elder, the number of elders in a church and congregational responsibilities for pastors/elders. (6 pages) The Will of Man and Salvation A chart is provided with answers to the question: In what sense is salvation strictly God’s will and in what sense is man involved? (1 page) When Life Seems Unfair This is a question answer study of Psalm 73 titled “When Life Seems Unfair”. This study is a series of questions and answers from the NKJV (scripture text inserted into the study) and takes one through Psalm 73 and the fact that life is not as we believe that it should be. It will help the student to look at the situation through the lens of scripture inspired by our all-knowing God rather than his own limited knowledge and understanding. (5 Pages) So What if I Skip Church This study examines the reasons why regular participation in a local church is commanded by the word of God. This is not talking about those who miss church from time to time or are out because of health issues. This is about people who consistently lay out of church and leave Bible-believing churches. This study examines the reasons that people say that they have left. Finally, it deals with both what an unbeliever needs to do and what a believer needs to do to get on track with the word of God. (7 Pages) Scriptural Answers to False Christianity This study provides Scriptural answers to false Christianity as embodied in cults and some mainline churches. Rather than trying to go group by group, there is an outline of correct doctrine concerning the doctrine of Christ and the Holy Spirit along with the content of the gospel and how it is received by simple faith apart from any additions. Under each point, groups who adhere to these false doctrines are mentioned. (6 Pages) Comparative Chart of the Views of Creation & the Flood of Noah This chart provides helpful comparisons of the following four views of creation held by believers: Original Creation, Gap Viewpoint of Creation, Day/Age View and Progressive Creation. Included in the comparisons are the views of the flood of Noah. (4 pages) All Bible resources in this website are copyrighted and remains the exclusive property of Robert Hall.
