Bible Studies (Q & A Study Series) (Please click on titles below to view or download) Studies on God This course is a basic question/answer study which deals with the attributes of God and includes a final section on the Trinity. In addition, the questions help the student to see what difference these truths should make in our daily lives and thoughts. (25 pages) What God’s Word Teaches About Jesus Christ Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary, fully God and fully human, two natures in one Person. This is a comprehensive study on what God’s Word teaches about Jesus Christ. (31 pages) What God’s Word Teaches About Sin This is a comprehensive thirteen part study on what God’s Word teaches about sin. The table of contents provides a detailed overview of what the study covers. (67 pages) Repentance Repentance is more than just being sorry for or turning from one’s sins. To repent, in relation to salvation, is to change your mind in regard to Jesus Christ and one’s sins. Repentance is a condition for salvation, and it is also a condition for the saved person who sins and confesses it to God.. This is an in-depth study of the concept of Biblical repentance. (12 pages) Eternal Security of the Believer The study provides the scriptural basis for the teaching that once salvation is received by faith in Christ, it cannot be lost by the true believer. (50 pages) Spiritual Gifts Spiritual gifts are given to every believer by the Holy Spirit at their conversion. They are to be used to minister to others and therefore build up the body of Christ. They are distributed according to His will, not by some effort on our part. This is a comprehensive study of the spiritual gifts. (18 pages) Living Based on the Superiority of Christ The book of Hebrews shows that Christ is superior in completely meeting our need for fellowship as well as salvation. The need and tests for fellowship are clearly described. It also shows the fruits or results of authentic saving faith. The active love believers in the Lord Jesus Christ are to have for one another is an important emphasis of this study. (20 pages) Inspiration and Inerrancy of Scripture The word “inspiration” literally means “God-breathed” in the Greek. And because Scripture is breathed by God, it is true and without error. This is a study of the inspiration and inerrancy of the Bible. (5 pages) Holy Spirit Baptism This is a study of the Scriptures relating to Holy Spirit Baptism. Holy Spirit baptism happens at the moment one trusts Christ for salvation and is not a work that He does for the believer at some time after salvation. (10 pages) Water Baptism for the Church Water Baptism identifies the believer with Christ in His death, burial and resurrection. It is an obligatory act of obedience, a public testimony and a picture representing profound truth. This is a study of God’s Word as relates to Water Baptism for the Church. and answers the error of those who teach that water baptism is necessary for salvation. (15 pages) Intermediate State This is a Biblical study of the time between physical death and the resurrection of an individual.This study also answers those who incorrectly teach that the soul is not conscious between death and the resurrection. (10 pages) Dispensations A “dispensation” is an era of time during which man is tested in respect to some definite revelation of God’s will. Dispensations are not different ways of being saved. Salvation is at all times by grace through faith. To fully understand the scriptures, it is helpful to look to scriptural meaning in light of the particular dispensation in which the scripture portion was written. Rapture Before the Tribulation The Rapture is the future event when Christ will descend from heaven at which time those who are in Christ will be immediately taken up to meet Him in the air. Following the Rapture is a seven year period of great distress and misery on earth, or in Biblical terms, a time of great trouble and suffering. This is an in-depth study of these events with emphasis on the scriptural evidence that the Rapture will immediately precede the Tribulation period. (15 pages) Bible Teaching Concerning Creation This is a study of the scriptures as relate to creation. This study also includes data relating to the day/age view and the gap viewpoint as well as a set of arguments for a young earth. (9 pages) Demons This is a biblical study of demons including who they are, their characteristics, their activities, the time order of demons, demon possession, demon oppression, effects of demon activity, exorcism, and dealing with people who are demon oppressed or influenced. (11 pages) Healing This is a study of the scriptural teaching of the causes of illness, the response to illness and of physical healing. (6 pages) The True Church or Universal Church The scriptures teach that the true or universal church consists of all believers from the date of Pentecost to the Rapture. (1 page) Did the Church Begin at Pentecost? The scriptures teach that the true church, the body of Christ did not come into being until Pentecost. The true church consists of only true believers baptized by the Holy Spirit into that one body. (6 pages) Legalism The word “legalism” does not occur in the Bible. It is a term Christians use to describe a doctrinal position emphasizing a system of rules and regulations for achieving both salvation and spiritual growth. Legalists believe in and demand a strict literal adherence to rules and regulations which are either not found in the scripture or misapplied from the Old Testament. Legalism should not be confused with obedience or disciplined behavior, which is commanded. (20 pages) Jude, Contending for the Truth Contending for the truth requires recognizing and rejecting false teachings and false teachers. (12 pages) The “One Another” Commands This is a study on what we are commanded to do in our relations with “one another.” These commands are actions based on love rather than feelings although the latter may be involved. (6 pages) Psalm 110 This is a study dealing with Jesus Christ at the right hand of God being a priest based on the priestly order of Melchizedek and the one who will bring judgment at His second coming and during His 1000 year earthly reign.
